Techno review – Amelie Lens – Stay with me (Perc Mix) – Second State
We have been aware of Second State the techno platform Pan-Pot call home since 2014, acting as a label through which they release tracks, host events, showcase fashion and present visual ideas to Techno lovers and dance-floor soldiers from all over the world.
The label explains about their latest techno release:
“Her return was imminent. Now she’s back, and like her current rise among the industries elite, Amelie Lens delivers an astonishing three tracker of her signature pulse-pounding expeditions. Pair that with a massive remix by the legendary Perc and you’ve got Stay With Me, an EP headed straight for the charts.”
We really enjoyed the entire release. Lots of tough kicks and squelching 303 patterns with minimal vocals which will sound huge on a big sound system. The mix we decided to feature is the really excellent remix from Perc, as that was my personal favourite of all of the tracks on the release. Flipping to the B-Side of a piece of Vinyl sometimes is my favourite part of buying a record and this time we see the fabled Perc deliver an absolute monster techno remix of Stay With Me.
A bit about Techno Producer Perc:
Perc is one of modern electronic music’s reference points: an internationally touring DJ and live act, label owner and one of the most respected producers in techno today. As a DJ, Perc has taken his sound across the world to such seminal clubs as Berghain, Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, Cocoliche, Fuse, Space Ibiza, Tresor, Unit in Tokyo and to festivals including Awakenings, Mayday, Unsound, Soenda, 10 Days Off, Extrema and many more.
This year Perc has continued his relentless gigging schedule with gigs across Europe, South America and Australia. He also found time to return to his Perc Trax imprint with the politically charged ‘Gob’, his first full EP for the label since 2012. As 2015 draws to a close his focus has been continuing with his ongoing collaborative projects with Truss and Adam X and constructing a completely new live set that will be ready for performances in early 2016.
