Barbuto + Da Fresh Guided Perception EP on Unity Records

Release Date: 25th March 2019

Barbuto joins forces with acclaimed French DJ/producer Da Fresh on new Guided Perception EP

01.Barbuto, Da Fresh – Guided Perception (Original Mix)

02.Barbuto, Da Fresh – Zig Zag (Original Mix)

Austin, Texas-based DJ & Producer Barbuto has partnered with Freshin Records label boss Da Fresh to produce a slick two-track techno EP that harnesses the combined power of the duo’s formidable talents.

Title track Guided Perception commands attention from the outset, bursting forth with a tempo that invokes peak-time dancefloor energy. Laced with flourishes of haunting acid rave-style vocals and swampy synth lines, it’s a production that is both melodic and fiercely relentless. Clocking in at just over six and half minutes in length, the track expertly pairs Barbuto’s unique brand of groove-laden techno with Da Fresh’s knack for big room club bangers.

Zig Zag, meanwhile, adopts more of a tech house vibe with a swinging beat augmented by crisp percussion and thoughtful variations in rhythm. A cerebral journey that draws the listener in as the track builds momentum, Zig Zag is a cleverly-crafted counterpoint to the EP’s more aggressive opener.

The Guided Perception EP will be released on Unity Records, a label based out of Toronto focusing on the best underground techno and tech house.

A bit about the producers: BARBUTO

Barbuto

Born in Sydney, Australia, Christian Barbuto has become a leading figure on Austin’s club circuit. After relocating many years back to Austin – the Texas city known as the Live Music Capital of the world – things really took off for Barbuto in 2015 after his first release on Octopus Recordings, which attracted the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano who went on to remix Barbuto’s follow-up EP Vanta Black.

This edge is exactly what has landed Barbuto on many of the industry’s prestigious imprints including Octopus, Transmit, Funk n’ Deep, Phobiq and Natura Viva. He’s hypnotized the dance floors of WMC, The BPM Festival, CODA (Toronto), Avalon (Los Angeles), Space Miami, Tree House (Miami), The End Up (San Francisco), Spin (San Diego), Jet Lounge (Houston), Quality Control (Salt Lake City) and dozens of underground parties across North America. Last year he toured his home country of Australia, and he has also built his name as a long-time resident of Kingdom Night Club, a venue that’s been touted by world-class techno talent as one of the best clubs to play in the USA.
