Later on this evening 5:45 PM GMT – Friday 29th May 2020 on Facebook & Youtube, legendary electronic music label Limbo Records host their very first live event! 
The lineup includes Phraktal, David Forbes, DJ Choopie, Stephen McCreery, Kris Keegan, Cristobal & Jamiez.

Phraktal is an electronic music band from Dublin, who are Producers/DJ’s/VJ’s  Christian Boshell, John Dwyer & Brian Cody. The group met through their eclectic music taste in Dublin, where all 3 were resident DJs in various clubs and radio stations across the capital.
In 2015 they shared with the world “Why 1 is One and 2 is Two” which achieved critical acclaim & since then they have seen support pour in from all across the globe including, Technoscene favorite Sam Paganini who kicked off his magical Mixmag Germany Compilation back in 2016 with the Roland Klinkenberg Dub of their first single ‘System Error’.

We got a sneak peek earlier in the week at their setup and their live set is full of unreleased music on top of a VJ set, to remind us all what some club nights were like before the pandemic.

Steven McCreery

 
Hailing from Glasgow, Steven is widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted DJ’s Scotland has produced. His 10-year residency at the infamous Tunnel club in Glasgow seen him DJ alongside the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Satoshi Tomiie, Deep Dish, Dave Morales and Roger Sanchez to name but just a few.Guest spots throughout the world seen him feature with Sasha at Colours, John Digweed at Renaissance and Paul Oakenfold at Pacha. Mix compilation releases such as “The Tunnel Mixes” with Paul Oakenfold and “Limbo Live @ The Tunnel” as well as various guest mix’s including John Digweed’s Transitions show. Producing and recording under many guises, such as Tipple and Dos Deviants. He has also undertaken successful co-productions with David Forbes, Hardy Heller and Christian Boshell.

First up on the Limbo live stream – David Forbes aka Tecra / Propulsion
David Forbes is a talented Glaswegian producer and has been a DJ for over 30 years. He started his musical career as the resident record spinner of the now infamous Glasgow club Hanger 13.
 
David Forbes recording career began in 1993 with releases for the likes of Combined Forces in Holland and the legendary Noom in Germany. He goes on to record for leading Scottish label Limbo under the name of “Propulsion” and “Tecra” where he enjoys the attention of leading DJs such as Nick Warren, Christopher Lawrence, and John “00” Fleming. His tracks were regularly featured in all of the major compilation titles such as Global Underground and Reactivate. His collaboration with leading producer Mallorca Lee (“Ultrasonic”) took him to write and produce three album tracks for dance sensation Public Domain.
 

 

Kris Keegan

 
Kris has been DJ’ing for over 30 years. He was manager at 23rd Precinct Record shop for 10 years and helped to establish 23rd Precinct’s Edinburgh store in the early 90’s. Laterally Kris had his own record shop Levelone Records and still promotes club nights, boat parties & all dayers under the Levelone moniker. Kris also ran SugarCube Recordings with longstanding friend & fellow DJ, Iain Boney Clark in the mid-90’s with over 20 releases focusing on US based house sounds. Kris currently holds residencies in One Up Club and Rumor Club, both in Glasgow city centre. His style has remained steadfast over the years and was hugely influenced by late 1980’s and early 1990’s house & techno producers from Detroit, Chicago & New York. Discofied house best describes his DJ style and Kris can seamlessly cross genres old and new without missing a beat. His noted Glasgow residencies over the years have included Babaza, Archaos, Arches, Betty’s, Tunnel, Mansion House, Bamboo, Cube, Strata, One Up, Light, Metropolitan, Buff Club, Rumor to name a few.

Choopie (Sharon Choopie Freundlich) C.E.O. at Agnosia Black-Records/SongsChoopie, the Tel Aviv-based music producer, has developed his own unique musical identity, grown his name as a top DJ/Producer, and created his own niche in the worldwide electronic music scene. Captivated by Kraftwerk from a very early age, his music has been his lifetime passion ever since. He has played Ibiza, New York, all over Europe and the Middle East – dynamic and vibrant sets that-combine unrestrained energy with musical revelation. Now, togetherwithSharkieboy and Golan Zocher, Choopie is back in the Agnosia studio creating even more new music, powerful, inventive, and uplifting tracks– for release soon.

Meeting at a club in the early ’00s, and bonding over a mutual fascination with tech and geek culture, Cristobal and Jamiez have joined musical forces to create tribal-inspired, acid-tinged dance music that is at home in the big room.
Inspired by everything from Chic to David Morales, and the East Coast sound of Roger Sanchez to the contemporary development of Mele, Cristobal & Jamiez prepare to deliver a live stream alongside other label mates from the iconic Glasgow based 23rd Precinct / Limbo Records team. Delving into the labels historic back catalog alongside razor-sharp brand new Prog & Melodic Techno of tomorrow, some of their own bootlegs of absolute classics, bringing fire & energy you would expect from the Double. This one is a bit special, expect something slightly different and lots of acid!
